Currently based in Gainesville, FL, Carl's theatrical adventures have ranged from the sub-Arctic chill of Fairbanks, AK to the sub-tropics of Florida, with stops on the East coast and throughout the Midwest in between.
A self-described theatrical generalist, his primary areas of emphasis are scenic design, technical direction, and properties. Additional areas of special study include ancient Greek theatre, Kabuki theatre and Bunraku, sustainable design, and the variations in color description and perception found between cultures.
He currently holds a BA in Theatre, with an emphasis in design and technology, from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and will be receiving his MFA in theatrical scenic design from the University of Florida.
